Customer Loyalty and Long-Term Relationships
Selling once is easy; selling for a lifetime is an art.
Programme overview.
Retaining acquired customers, growing accounts (upsell / cross-sell) and generating referrals. Systematic follow-up planning and customer lifecycle management.
Why this training?
Winning a new customer costs 5-7 times more than keeping an existing one. Yet most companies spend 80% of their sales energy on new business. This programme does not reverse the balance — it systematises it: an annual plan per customer, a contact calendar and tracked growth opportunities.
The backbone of the programme.
Customer Lifecycle
Onboarding → active use → renewal → growth → referral. Each stage has its own actions; lumping them all into 'relationship management' is a mistake.
ABC Portfolio Segmentation
A: the 10-20% of customers producing 60-70% of revenue; B: mid-tier; C: the long tail. Time and energy are allocated accordingly.
Annual Account Plan
A one-page plan prepared yearly for A customers: revenue target, growth opportunities, risk analysis and contact calendar.
Systematic Referral Requests
Not 'do you know anyone?', but asking at the right moment (right after a concrete satisfying outcome), with the right question, name and context.
Field example.
At a technical equipment distributor we introduced annual account plans and Quarterly Business Reviews for the 40 largest A customers. Within 12 months their revenue share rose from 58% to 71% and the average number of cross-sold product groups from 2.1 to 3.4.
